Publisher of award-winning consumer-health magazines, books, and a Web site in NYC is looking for a part-time freelance Graphic Designer with at least three years of experience. The ideal candidate will be energetic, have an incredible eye for detail, good communication and problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain an overview of the publishing industry within a small business environment.
The Graphic Designer will work on-site to create original designs for our Web site. We are looking for a person who has the creative design skills necessary to fully develop a project from concept to completion. The designer will be responsible for the design of a variety of communications materials, including animated online ads, e-mail blasts, and e-mail newsletters.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Repurpose and reformat existing print content for the Web.
- Retouch and color-correct images for print and Web.
Applicants must be proficient in current versions of Adobe Creative Suite, Actionscript, and HTML. Prior experience in publishing is a plus.
